Short Stay Cardiology

Patient care, before and after tests and procedures for the heart.

Provides care for clients before and after invasive cardiac tests or procedures. Includes the following procedures:

• using a wire mesh to open a blocked blood vessel in the heart (angioplasty)
• taking x-rays to look for blood flow problems in the heart (angiograms)
• using sound waves to take a picture of the heart and its blood vessels (echocardiogram)
• putting in pacemakers
