The Cochlear Implant Service helps people of all ages who have severe (trouble hearing sounds at normal speaking levels, especially in noisy places) to profound hearing loss (partial or no ability to hear sounds at normal speaking levels) and don't get help from normal hearing aids, by offering ways to make their lives better.The service tests to see if someone can get a cochlear implant (a small electronic device that is implanted into the inner ear) that helps people with severe to profound hearing loss. They help with set up, support, and check to see how the device works over time.
