The Driver Evaluation & Training Service (DETS) provides driving assessment, counselling, and training for young adults, adults and seniors who have a wide variety of disabilities or health conditions that may affect their ability to drive.The Driver Evaluation & Training Service provides: Comprehensive driver evaluation to assess the capacity and ability for safe driving in clients with complex medical and / or functional conditions who cannot be safely assessed by typical driver evaluation services. Recommendations and on-road training with the use of adaptive techniques or equipment if / when appropriate i.e. adapted or custom-modified car, or wheelchair-accessible van. Referrals to specialized rehabilitation services to practice core skills that are required for safe driving. Additional education for use of vehicle modifications and assistance in choosing adaptations for vehicles.

Client must have an authorization letter from the Alberta Transportation Driver Fitness and Monitoring Medical Reviewing Officer.
Must be 16 years of age and older (with valid Learner's permit)
