Voice Clinic

Provides assessment and treatment to both pediatric and adult patients with voice problems.

Service includes:

  • speech-language pathology assessments
  • ongoing care and regular follow-up
  • suggestions and recommendations to speech-language pathologists and doctors

The program offers gender-affirming voice and communication training for individuals seeking to make their voice and / or other aspects of their communication congruent with their self-described gender identity and / or desires for gender expression.

Eligibility

People with voice problems related to:

  • neurological injury or disease (e.g. brain injury, stroke, vocal fold paralysis, spasmodic dysphonia)
  • problems due to a medical problem or disease (e.g. polyps, papilloma, cancer)
  • problems due to using the voice (e.g. vocal misuse, muscle tension, vocal cord dysfunction)
