Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth

Offers a full-day session to Grade 9 students about preventing injuries, staying away from risky behaviours, and making safe choices.

Provides full-day sessions to Grade 9 students about preventing injuries and staying away from risky behaviours. The PARTY program helps students think about choices and consequences.

Students get to:

  • meet injury survivors
  • listen to healthcare workers describe the journey of a trauma patient
  • learn facts about brain and spinal cord injuries
  • try equipment used in trauma care and rehabilitation

PARTY program offers:

  • in-house, where a maximum of 35 students come to the hospital

Eligibility

Grade 9 students.

Service Access

Invitations are mailed to schools by March, and bookings are arranged for the school year starting in September.

In-House: Schools can also contact the program co-ordinator in the spring before the start of the school year to arrange.


Fees

There is a per student fee.

For youth who are in custody of the province, where they are unable to generate funds.
