Cardiac Rehabilitation Program

Provides rehabilitation for adults with heart disease or after a heart attack or other cardiac event.

People in the program include those who:

  • had a heart attack
  • had CABG (coronary artery bypass surgery)
  • had PTCA (percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty)
  • had heart valve surgery
  • have angina (stable)
  • have heart failure

Services offered are:

  • education to reduce risk factors
  • supervised exercises
  • home exercise programs
  • nutrition
  • social and psychological support (client and family)

Access
Service Providers May Include
cardiologists, dietitians, exercise specialists, occupational therapists (OTs), psychologists, physical therapists (PTs), pharmacists, registered nurses (RNs), social workers
