Ostomy Care Clinic

Provides care and education for people with an ostomy. This is a service provided for Royal Alexandra Hospital patients to support their transition between hospital and home.

Service includes:

• teaching and consultation for peristomal wound and skin management
• pre-op discussion and teaching for clients considering or planning surgery resulting in an ostomy
• client education including stoma care and selection and use of correct appliances
• information about community resources and support in transition
