Thoracic Surgery

Patient requiring chest surgery under the Thoracic service are admitted to this unit.

Provides surgery for people with chest (thoracic) problems including:

  • thoracotomies (opening the chest wall)
  • pneumonectomies (taking out a lung)
  • surgery for other lung diseases
