Prenatal Class Registration (Public Health Centres Only)

Offers prenatal classes in the Edmonton area for first time parents and people who have waited more than 5 years to have another child.

Prenatal classes are offered at various locations at Public Health Centres throughout the Edmonton area.

 

Prenatal Classes provide information about:

  • pregnancy
  • breathing and relaxation techniques
  • how your support person can help with labor and delivery
  • getting ready for labour
  • birth of the child
  • breastfeeding
  • care of the newborn

It is recommended that the course be taken at the beginning of the third trimester, but you can take the course earlier in your pregnancy.

Classes are taught in groups by a Registered Nurse. Classes may be in the evenings or on weekends.

Fee is $65.00; Charge cards are accepted or client can be sent a bill.

Fees may be lower if you are having trouble affording the cost of the classes.
