Renal Clinic - Pediatric

Diagnoses and treats disorders of the kidney and urinary tract, including high blood pressure, kidney stones, and problems with blood chemistry.

Children with kidney disease need a wide variety of care. The Stollery Children's Hospital provides comprehensive medical services, from the management of simple disorders such as urinary tract infections to more complex and serious kidney disorders requiring dialysis, aphaeresis or kidney transplantation.

Pediatric Nephrologists at the Stollery Children's Hospital also oversee the Northern Alberta Pediatric Renal Program, which is housed in the Stollery Children's Hospital. There, children with kidney disease have appointments regularly with a team of health-care professionals (a pediatric nephrologist, a nurse, a dietitian and a social worker) who reviews the patient's progress, discusses any concerns, make any required medication and or equipment adjustments and run any required investigations.
