Special Pediatric Dermatology Plastics Clinic - Alberta Children's Hospital

Patients referred should benefit from consultation with both a pediatric dermatologist and pediatric plastic surgeon.

This clinic occurs once per month at the Alberta Children's Hospital. Patients are seen by both a pediatric dermatologist and pediatric plastic surgeon.

Examples of the types of problems seen include:

• pediatric patients seen by a dermatologist that would benefit from a plastic surgery opinion and vice versa
• skin lesions not yet diagnosed requiring assessment and possible biopsy
• spitz nevi requiring further excision or follow up
• congenital nevi - medium and large size
• melanonychia (pigmentation of nail bed)
• complex skin syndromes: epidermolysis bullosa, icthyosis
