Patients referred should benefit from consultation with both a pediatric dermatologist and pediatric plastic surgeon.This clinic occurs once per month at the Alberta Children's Hospital. Patients are seen by both a pediatric dermatologist and pediatric plastic surgeon. Examples of the types of problems seen include: pediatric patients seen by a dermatologist that would benefit from a plastic surgery opinion and vice versa skin lesions not yet diagnosed requiring assessment and possible biopsy spitz nevi requiring further excision or follow up congenital nevi - medium and large size melanonychia (pigmentation of nail bed) complex skin syndromes: epidermolysis bullosa, icthyosis
