Sexually Transmitted Disease Partner Notification Nurse

Makes contact tracing and provides follow-up for people who have been named as STD or HIV contacts.

Contacts and provides follow-up for people who have been named as STD or HIV contacts.

Services include:

  • encouraging people to get tested if they are at risk for getting HIV or an STI
  • counselling before people are tested for HIV or an STI
  • information about HIV and STIs
  • referral to doctors
  • STI services orientation for new doctors

Some service may be provided in homes and at other agencies (e.g., doctor’s offices), but most services are provided at the public health office.
