Seniors Mental Health Program Mental Health Inpatient Services

Assesses and treats older adults who have mental health concerns.

Assesses and treats people who are in the hospital with mental health concerns, including:

  • mood disorders (depression, bipolar, anxiety)
  • psychotic disorders (Schizophrenia, delusional disorders)
  • dementia

Eligibility

For people generally 65 years and older.

Referral Needed

A referral from a doctor or psychiatrist is needed. People can also be referred after an assessment by a Senior’s Outreach Nurse in the Community Mental Health Centre. Referrals need to include a medical work-up, medication list, and copies of mental status or psychiatric assessments.
