A program to help people over the age of 60 who have substance abuse or misuse issues.

This service offers flexible treatment approaches and services, including:

  • education
  • individual and group therapy
  • individual, peer, and family support

Eligibility

People over 60 years of age.

Service Access

Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information.

Referrals are made through Access Mental Health.

Self referrals are accepted or a health care provider can make the referral.


Wait Times

The waiting period is usually 2 months. Clients attend an orientation session to learn more about the program. Orientation is offered monthly and attendance is required for admission to SAILL. An intake assessment is booked within approximately 2 months of orientation and then individuals and clients can start the weekly educational group soon after.
