Developmental Disabilities Mental Health - Arnika Centre

Provides psychiatric assessment and consultation to adults and teenagers 16 years of age and older with an intellectual disability and a mental health and / or behavioral problem.

Developmental Disabilities Mental Health offers psychiatric assessment and stabilization, via medication, for individuals with IDD and mental health concerns and/or significant behavioural problems. DDMH only accepts referrals for persons who have established eligibility for supports with Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD). Once the initial assessment by the DDMH psychiatrist is complete, the patient may be referred internally for evidence based interventions provided by allied health resources internal to DDMH. This is at the psychiatrists discretion. DDMH is a consultation service and once the patient has achieved mental health stability, a discharge back to the family physician will occur.
