Addiction and Mental Health - Residential Treatment Services, Adult

A 48 bed adult, co-ed, short-term residential addiction treatment program.

Offers an 18 - 24 day intensive residential treatment program for adult men and women who are experiencing problems as a result of their alcohol use, other drug use, tobacco and gambling. The focus is increased understanding of addiction, self-awareness, learning and practicing healthier coping skills in a supportive environment, development of a healthy and balanced lifestyle and action plans for meeting recovery goals.

24 hour service

Administration hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Service Providers May Include
addiction counsellors, client care assistants (CCAs), mental health therapists, recreation therapists, recreation therapy assistants, registered nurses (RNs)
  • adults who are experiencing problems as a result of their alcohol use, other drug use, or gambling and who wish to learn and practice healthier coping skills.
  • clients who do not have acute health or mental health issues that would interfere with program participation
  • Lander is a tobacco free program. Admission criteria for those who use tobacco include a willingness to particpate in tobacco - dependence programming, and a commitment to abstain from tobacco use for the duration of the residential program
  • abstinence from all alcohol and other drugs is required prior to the admission date. Required length of detox time is determined during the telephone assessment interview. Individuals requiring detoxification will be referred to a detox facility.
Referral Needed

Apply for admission by submitting a completed applicaton. A medical assessment is requried as part of the application and must be completed in full by a medical doctor or nurse practitioner. Upon receipt of application, a preadmission phone interview will be scheduled with the applicant to deteremine appropriate treatment match.
