Police and Crisis Team

PACT provides rapid, on-site community crisis response with police and clinicians, including de-escalation, connection to supports, and conveyance under the Mental Health Act when required.

PACT (Police and Crisis Team) is a partnership Recovery Alberta and the Grande Prairie Police Service that provides rapid, on-site response to individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis in the community. The team focuses on de-escalation, assessment, and connection to appropriate supports, helping reduce unnecessary emergency department visits and justice involvement. PACT can also facilitate conveyance under the Alberta Mental Health Act when individuals meet criteria for involuntary assessment, ensuring safe transport to hospital for further evaluation.
