Pediatric Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Clinical Services

The Pediatric Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) outpatient clinic helps kids who were exposed to alcohol before they were born.

The clinic checks and diagnoses kids aged 6 - 17 who were exposed to alcohol before they were born. They also provide the caregivers with a written summary.

The clinic offers:

  • help finding support from other groups in the community if they need it
  • information for the families and the community
  • teaching other doctors how to check and diagnose Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
  • giving families a chance to take part in research

Access
Service Providers May Include
clinic coordinators, developmental pediatricians, neuropsychologists, occupational therapists (OTs), social workers, speech language pathologists (SLPs)
Eligibility
  • Children must be between 6 to 17 years of age
  • Children must have a suspected diagnosis of FASD
  • Children must be having difficulties with behaviour, development, learning, or adapting that is affecting their day- to- day functioning
  • Children should already be connected with mental health services, if needed
