Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic, Pediatric - Alberta Kidney Care - South
Provides care to young adults and children 17 years or less who have chronic kidney disease.
In this clinic a team of healthcare providers:
- recognize and treat children who may be more likely to develop kidney disease (like children with major risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol)
- slow the disease in children who have developed chronic renal insufficiency (with the likelihood that kidneys are working at less than 50% of normal)
- work to improve the health of children living with kidney disease and to reduce the number of children who die because of kidney disease
Service Providers May Include
nephrologists, pharmacists, psychologists, registered nurses (RNs), social workers
Young adults and children 17 years or less with chronic kidney disease.
