Specimen Collection Requirements:

Tube must be filled to the stated fill volume.
Not filling the tube will cause invalid results.

GPRH:
DARK GREEN – LIHEP NO GEL
Sample stable for 4 hours on ice. If not on ice, stable for 30 minutes.

Peace River:
MINT LIHEP PST
Must be analyzed within 10 minutes of collection.
PICO blood gas syringe (collected by non-lab staff)

ALL OTHER SITES:
Venous whole blood, Lithium or Sodium Heparin vacutainer tube. Sample must be analyzed within 10 minutes of collection.
Arterial/ Venous whole blood, PICO blood gas syringe (collected by non-lab staff) with a minimum of 0.7 ml volume.
