Advanced Venous Access Service

A specialty service that assesses and insert Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters to provide access for intravenous therapies including (but not limited to) hydration, antimicrobial, chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.

Provides people with long-term intravenous (IV) therapy:

  • Assessment and insertion of PICC
  • Consultation
  • Education, problem solving and resource for healthcare providers related to Cental Venous Access Catheters
  • Follow up an care and maintenance

Provides services to adult patients only. Eligibility will be assessed by AVAS registered nurses.
