Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Clinic

Provides assessment, diagnosis, testing and treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infections.

In response to COVID-19, the STI Clinic has limited services. The clinic is only seeing clients by appointment only, no walk-in. Please call the mainline for an appointment. Those with URGENT concerns will be prioritized. All clients will need to do a phone assessment and screening prior to coming to the clinic.

COVID-19 STI Clinic Changes:

  • no walk-ins, appointments only
  • please call ahead to the clinic prior. Anyone walking to reception will be turned away and asked to call the mainline
  • all clients are pre-screened for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure
  • urgent concerns are prioritized, which include:
    • patients with a known STI and require treatment
    • contact to a known STI and require testing/treatment
    • symptoms of an STI
    • care following a recent sexual assault
  • routine testing may be provided, if appointment times are available
  • self-collection testing is temporarily available
  • all clients are required to perform hand hygiene and wear a mask at all times. New masks will be provided onsite - personal masks are not permitted

STI Clinic services provided:

  • diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections in a non-judgmental and inclusive environment
  • detailed syphilis diagnosis, treatment and follow up
  • Hepatitis A, B and HPV vaccine program for qualified individuals
  • HIV, hepatitis A, B and C testing for qualified individuals
  • emergency contraception
  • counselling and client education as well as support for community partners and physicians
  • contact tracing and partner notification
  • testing and treatment provided in community to those unable to access other sites or providers
  • harm reduction supply distribution (e.g. needles, condoms)
  • referrals to other services

You can also access STI testing through your healthcare provider.

Ask for HIV, Syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia testing.

Patient intake begins 15 minutes after posted opening time. Clinic is closed on Statutory holidays and holiday weekends.

Please phone the STI Clinic before coming in.

In the past 14 days, have you:

  • developed a NEW fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat or shortness of breath OR
  • travelled outside Canada OR
  • been in close contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19 OR
  • had close contact with a person with acute respiratory illness who has travelled anywhere outside of Canada

IF YES to any of the above, DO NOT come to the Clinic. Instead, go to and complete the self-assessment. Please do not visit a hospital, doctor's office, lab or health care facility without consulting Health Link (811).

Wait Times

In response to COVID-19, the clinic is by appointment only, no walk-ins. If you come directly to the clinic, you will be turned away and asked to call the main line and book an appointment.

Additional waiting periods may exist for referrals to STI physicians.

Wait times vary depending on volume of clients and may take up to 24 hours for assessment.

STI testing and treatment are also available through your family physician or local medical clinic.
