Prenatal Education Programs

Public Health offers prenatal education classes for pregnant people, their partners and / or support people.

Central Zone Prenatal Nutrition class is offered as a virtual class.

Three in-person classes are offered for later in pregnancy: Attend in your second or early third trimester:

Delivering Your Baby

  • normal changes in 3rd trimester
  • stages of labour and birth
  • when to go to the hospital
  • role of the support person

Meeting Your Baby

  • decision making in labour & delivery
  • when things don’t go as planned
  • what to expect after delivery
  • getting to know your newborn

You and Your New Baby

  • feeding your baby
  • learning to breastfeed
  • understanding and responding to your baby

Alberta based virtual classes (fee) and online self-study course (no cost) are available through the AHS Calgary Zone Birth and Babies webpage https://birthandbabies.com

For education options and to register for in-person classes call the Central Zone Prenatal Class Central Registration Line 1.855.554.4774. Class dates and locations, or alternate education options, will be provided during the call.


Fees

Central Zone Prenatal Nutrition Class is offered virtually at no cost.

Each of the three in-person classess for later pregnancy are $20 per class. The price includes yourself and your labour support person.
