Central Intake of Edmonton Zone CT and MRI Referrals – On February 3, Edmonton Zone Diagnostic Imaging will be implementing a single toll free fax line for all routine CT and MRI outpatient referrals, with the exception of those performed at the Cross Cancer Institute (CCI). Safer Practice Notice: Transfer or patients with Portable Oxygen - Patients receiving supplemental oxygen can be at risk of deterioration when being transferred within facilities with insufficient oxygen supply. Read the Safer Practice Notice for more info on preventing this issue.

Until further notice: Only order O Rh Positive for your emergency blood stock. Use O Rh positive for unmatched/ Emergency Issue unless pt. is of childbearing age, or pediatric. Call the Pathologist for approval to use O Rh neg in these circumstances.

Please use O Rh Negative stock only for necessary transfusions.

Call the Pathologist if a situation arises where the above may be an issue.
