Adult day programs (ADPs) are for people over the age of 18 who require services to help maintain or improve your physical and cognitive function. ADPs provide opportunities for an individual to be part of group activities in a supervised environment. Staff provide social and physical activities in a safe, structured setting. When attending an ADP site in-person, for a full day, a nutritious snack and lunch is provided.

Adult day programs can offer caregiver support and respite, as well as a variety of professional and support services.

Wait Times

To see if an adult day program is right for you, talk to your AHS case manager. Once a referral is received an Intake Case Manager will review your file and may contact you and /or your family to discuss the best program to meet your identified needs. Your name will be added to the waitlist. Wait times will vary depending on the demands for the program you are waiting for.

The day program site staff will contact you and/or your family when they have a space. They will provide information on days you can attend, program schedule and details on services.

Adult day programs charge a nominal fee of $15 per visit, which includes a meal and/or a snack while you are at the program. You will need reliable transportation and are responsible for covering transportation costs.

Cost should not be a barrier to accessing adult day programs. If you have any questions or concerns about fees, please contact your case manager.
