School Health Program

Provides public health nursing support to school communities (students, staff and families) in the Calgary Zone. Support includes student vaccination services, health surveillance and population health initiatives.

This service offers:

  • public health nursing to support all schools in the Calgary Zone. Public Health Nursing works in partnership with school communities to promote health and develop strong, supportive communities
  • school aged immunizations through school-based programs. Routine immunization programs occur in grades 1, 6 and 9
  • public health nurses monitor, report and respond to communicable disease outbreaks within the school community
