Physiotherapy - Hip and Knee Replacement

AHS offers funded physiotherapy services in contracted clinics to help initiate your surgery recovery, improve function, and teach you how to be healthy and independent.

Physiotherapists are movement specialists who are trained to help people improve participation in their daily activities. Through an active approach, physiotherapists focus on teaching exercises and educating clients on how to manage pain and their recovery.
Services will be provided in a group unless there are expectational circumstances. Individual treatment requires approval by program coordinators. Treatment in both formats will include:

  • an assessment
  • home exercise program
  • education on your condition and how to manage daily living
  • education to support ongoing activity and long-term recovery

Participation is encouraged at home and in the clinic.

This service is provided by Alberta Health Services contracted service providers.
