Psychiatric Emergency Services

Provides crisis intervention and psychiatric assessment to patients within the emergency department referred by an emergency room physician. Also provides mental health assessments and recommendations to the physician.

Services provided to clients and families by Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) may also include:

• supporting admission to a psychiatry unit based on the needs of the individual
• referral for short-term outreach support for discharged clients with a focus on crisis stabilitzation, safety planning and navigation to appropriate servicers
