Trauma Care Alberta

Trauma Care Alberta is a provincial program within Acute Care Alberta that provides leadership for Alberta's trauma system. The program supports evidence-based standards, quality improvement, trauma system planning, education, and the Alberta Trauma Registry to improve access to high-quality trauma care across the province.

Trauma Care Alberta (TCA) is the provincial trauma program within Acute Care Alberta, providing leadership and coordination for Alberta's integrated trauma system. TCA supports trauma centres, emergency hospital services, healthcare providers, and system partners across the province through trauma system planning, evidence-based standards, quality improvement, accreditation readiness, education, performance measurement, and data analytics. The program maintains the Alberta Trauma Registry and leads provincial initiatives to improve trauma prevention, access, patient outcomes, and the delivery of high-quality trauma care. TCA is a system support and leadership program and does not provide direct patient care.
