Pulmonary Diagnostics Unit

Clinic provides diagnostic procedures for patients with lung conditions that require care from a Respirologist, a doctor who is a specialist in lung diseases.

Clinic provides diagnostic procedures for lung conditions such as:

  • cough
  • shortness of breath
  • chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD)
  • asthma
  • lung cancer
  • interstitial lung disease
  • sleep apnea
  • pneumonia
  • malignant pleural effusion

Access
Service Providers May Include
registered licensed practical nurses (LPNs), registered nurses (RNs), registered respiratory therapists (RRTs), respirologists
Eligibility

Adult patients over the age of 18.

Referral Needed

A doctor's referral is required.

Referring Doctors are encouraged to go through PCAT (Pharmacy College Admission Test) or ATOP (Alberta Thoracic Oncology Program).

Service Access

Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information.

  • appointments must be pre-booked
  • clinic will not accept walk in
  • repeated cancellation and no shows may result in patient being discharged from clinic
