We support our troops

Andrew Beauchamp

I feel incredibly fortunate to have an employer like Alberta Health Services that’s not only dedicated to our patients, but also to our members of the Canadian Forces. As an army officer, we have opportunities to attend leadership and professional development training opportunities. A lot of the planning and communications that are required on the battlefield is directly transferrable into any business atmosphere, including Alberta Health Services.

In 2016, we received the Canadian Forces Liaison Council (CFLC) Employer Support Award for supporting more than 100 employees to attend military training and operations. Through AHS’ Leave of Absence Policy, reservists are provided unpaid leaves of absence after the first year of employment to participate in military training and operations.
