NARP Patient Referral

The University of Alberta Nephrology Clinic Central Triage Referral System has been operational since 2007.  All new referrals to Nephrology can now be faxed to a single location.  Requests for a specific Nephrologist may need to be sent to the Nephrologist’s office.  Please refer to the University of Alberta, Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology website for physician contact numbers.

The Nephrology Central Triage Referral System should not be used for patients who need to be seen on an emergency basis (within a week).  Such cases should be referred to the Nephrologist on-call at the University of Alberta Hospital (780) 407-8822.

Referrals to the Nephrology Central Triage System are to include the following:

Referrals to Central Nephrology Triage are to be faxed to (780) 407-7771 and are to be labeled Central Nephrology Triage.

Referrals to a specific Nephrologist are to be faxed to the Nephrologist’s office and are to be labeled with the Nephrologist’s name.

Once your referral is received, a Nephrologist will triage your patient accordingly and notification will be given to your office regarding the patient appointment.  Occasionally, dependent on the referral request, additional tests will be requested.
