Local volunteers needed to support grieving individuals

September 8, 2015

LETHBRIDGE – Two compassionate, caring and responsible volunteers are needed to comfort grieving family members who have lost a loved one.

Bereavement volunteers act as a non-medical support to provide emotional care and raise awareness of community resources to the families of Alberta Health Services patients and clients. These volunteers help bereaved individuals navigate the grieving process, send cards, and make phone calls.

This program has a flexible schedule and requires five to 10 hours per month. Last year, three volunteers gave 115 volunteer hours to support this program.

Training and educational support is provided.
