Community Health Services lot resurfacing begins Monday

August 6, 2015

LETHBRIDGE — The north atrium entrance of Chinook Regional Hospital will reopen Friday at noon. Patients and visitors who use the parkade can once again walk directly into the hospital.

The entrances and walkway from the parkade were closed for five months to allow for the installation of utility lines for the hospital’s redevelopment project.

After-hours (8 p.m. – 7 a.m.), pedestrians will enter the hospital through the Emergency Department (ED) entrance. Signage from the parkade will direct them to the proper ED entrance.

As well, the expanded auxiliary building parking lot will reopen for Community Lab and Southern Alberta Renal Program patients.

In the meantime, work continues on the driveway and parking area between the north atrium and parkade, an area which will remain closed to vehicles until the fall.

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
