Play to spark community conversations about reconciliation

ST PAUL – Alberta Health Services is proud to support the Theatre for Living production, šxʷʔam̓ət (home).

šxʷʔam̓ət  is a hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (a Coast Salish dialect) word used to refer to home. The production weaves together stories based on real stories and challenges and focuses on the issues all Canadians face as we move towards reconciliation; it compels audiences to think about reconciliation not as a “thing of the past”, but something that is relevant now.

Created and performed by a mixed Indigenous and non-Indigenous cast and production team, šxʷʔam̓ət (home) invites audiences to try to offer solutions to the real-life problems being presented on the stage.

The production is sponsored by Blue Quills College and will be held Saturday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m., at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 5601 51 St., St. Paul. Tickets can be purchased by calling 780-645-0798, and will also be available at the door. They can also be purchased online.

šxʷʔam̓ət (home) is also being performed in Edmonton on February 11 and February 13, Medicine Hat on February 16 and Calgary on February 17 and February 18.
