New SCNergy e-newsletter highlights collaboration, welcomes subscribers

Alberta’s Strategic Clinical Networks (SCNs) have launched their first issue of SCNergy, an e‑newsletter that welcomes new subscribers with the promise of “network news you can use”.

“Our goal is to share what’s happening across the province and across the networks, and to highlight the partnerships, collaboration and synergy happening within each network and the collective impact of this work for the people of Alberta,” says Tracy Wasylak, SCN Chief Program Officer.

“As an SCN family, we’re committed to engaging and connecting with patients, families, clinical and operational leaders, managers and front-line staff, academic and community partners, and all stakeholders.”

Over the past year Alberta’s SCNs have continued to evolve. Currently, there are 11 SCNs and five Integrated Provincial Teams focused on clinical excellence, health system improvement and patient-centred care. These teams bring together people who are passionate and knowledgeable about specific areas of health, challenging them to find new and innovative ways of delivering care to provide better quality, better outcomes and better value for every Albertan.

The launch of SCNergy is a natural outgrowth of the SCNs’ commitment to engage and connect with our stakeholders.

“We’ve heard that stakeholders value hearing ‘good news’ stories and progress updates – including how our work reaches and impacts Albertans,” says Wasylak. “SCNergy provides an opportunity to achieve that, to communicate and share opportunities to get involved, and to showcase resources and activities that can support your work and your health.”

The debut issue of SCNergy highlights recent changes in structure of some SCNs, including the formation of a Medicine SCN and integration of capabilities within provincial teams; how partnerships and collaboration have helped us navigate many challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic; a profile of patient and family advisor Gloria Wilkinson; and a selection of news briefs (SCN Short Takes).

“As this is a new venture, we are very interested in hearing your thoughts on the newsletter, content you’d like to see and any suggestions,” Wasylak adds. “Reader feedback will help us ensure SCNergy provides content of value in a quick-hit format that meets the needs of our audience.”

The next edition of SCNergy is scheduled for the spring. To subscribe or to share feedback, visit SCNergy.
