Business leader appointed to Alberta Health Services Board

Business leader Hartley R. Harris has been appointed to the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Board effective August 10, 2021 the Government of Alberta and AHS announced today.

Harris brings to the AHS Board more than 25 years of experience in technical, business and regulatory organizations. An electrical engineer, Harris is co-founder and President of Calgary-based Catch Engineering, which provides services to energy companies around the world. He also serves as Board Chair of the Energy Industry Electrical Engineering Associates.

In the past, Harris was an elected councilor for the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Power Ecosystems Inc., and a technical director on the advisory board for the Alberta Steam and Power Corporation.

Harris received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1996. He also maintains his Professional Engineering registration in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. In 2016, he completed his Institute of Corporate Directors certification.
