Temporary closure of Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service

October 26, 2021

SYLVAN LAKE – Due to sudden physician unavailability, Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (AACS) will be temporarily closed this evening, beginning at 2 p.m.

Patients arriving at AACS during closed hours will be redirected to other care options as appropriate. These options include returning to AACS on October 27 when regular business hours resume between 7:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. Patients are also encouraged to book an appointment with their family doctor, or visit a walk in clinic.

This decision is a difficult one, but closing this service is the right and responsible thing to do. All avenues to secure physician coverage have been exhausted.

Residents needing assistance locating a service or nearby facility can contact Health Link at 811 for a list of other available clinics or for additional health information. Health Link is a 24-hour a day, 7 day a week telephone advice and health information service where highly trained registered nurses will provide you with advice and information.
