WHITECOURT - Local and area families now have improved access to care with the arrival of a new physician practising in the community.

Dr. Ebikabowei (Lucky) Kotingo is a family medicine physician with enhanced surgical (C-Section) skills. He is providing care at Life Medical Clinic and the Whitecourt Healthcare Centre.

He joins a team of 15 physicians providing services in Whitecourt.

“Recruiting a family medicine physician with enhanced surgical skills to Whitecourt is great news for the community,” says Martin Long, MLA for West Yellowhead. “Dr. Kotingo’s specialty skills are a welcomed addition and will provide great support to the local medical team.”

Alberta Health Services (AHS) continues to recruit for physicians across northern Alberta to meet community needs.

AHS has physician resource planners who are dedicated to identifying and pursuing international and domestic physician recruitment opportunities. They work closely with various community partners and organizations, such as local Health Advisory Councils, the Rural Health Professions Action Plan, and independent physician attraction and retention committees.

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
