Public Alert: Spike in opioid-related emergencies continues

EDMONTON - Alberta Health Services (AHS) is issuing a warning about the dangers of illegal drugs. 

EMS responded to 55 opioid-related calls in the Edmonton Zone, in two days from May 31 – June 1. Naloxone was administered at 50 of those responses, and EMS transported 34 people to hospital.  

At this time, there is no specific information available on the substance, its description, or the observed reactions.
