Recommendations for GI Referrals and Colorectal Cancer Sceening
During the pandemic, there have been significant service reductions in endoscopy across the province, resulting in growing wait lists and wait times. To address these pressures, we’ve provided recommendations for colorectal cancer screening, primary care referrals to GI, and links to non-urgent specialist advice, primary care pathways and other supports.
Our goal is to support primary care providers in delivering safe, quality care in the patient’s medical home, while ensuring that patients with more urgent indications receive GI care in a timely manner.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for GI Endoscopy
The AHS Emergency Coordination Centre has endorsed these recommendations, which are based on current evidence. Recommendations and resources may be revised as new evidence is available.
