Patient-to-Patient Research

Several patient-led research studies are helping transform osteoarthritis (OA) care in Alberta.

Jean Miller and Sylvia Teare, both Patient and Community Engagement Researchers (PaCERs), worked with AHS, the Bone & Joint Health SCN, and the O’Brien Institute of Public Health at the University of Calgary to study the experience of individuals living with OA. This work helped identify gaps between patient needs and available supports.

Results of the study were published in The Patient – Patient-Centred Outcomes Research.
