Kerry Bales is Central Zone Chief Zone Officer for Alberta Health Services. He shares accountability for the Central Zone with Dr. Daniel Edgcumbe, Zone Medical Director.
Mr. Bales has held variety of roles with AHS and the former David Thompson Health Authority over the past 15 years. His experience ranges from providing front-line nursing care in the community, to working in acute care, continuing care and clinical sectors, to holding business and senior leadership roles. Through his active involvement in the delivery of front-line care, program development and leading the transition from legacy Regional Health Authorities to the AHS Central Zone, Mr. Bales has gained a keen awareness of the opportunities for building on the strong foundation of health service delivery in Central Alberta. He has a passion for working with staff, clinicians and communities to find innovative solutions to health-care challenges.
Mr. Bales has always lived in Central Alberta and considers himself a rural Albertan. He was raised in Carstairs and moved to Red Deer to pursue his post-secondary education. In the moments when he is not filling the role of SVP, Mr. Bales enjoys spending time with his four children and wife, Trudy.
