Patient & Family Engagement

Patients & Families, Cancer Care Alberta

Cancer Care Alberta

At Cancer Care Alberta (CCA), patients and families help guide the work we do every day. Their experiences and ideas help us improve cancer care and make sure services meet the needs of the people who use them.

Patients and families can take part in decisions about their own care and help shape programs and services across Alberta.

Ways to Get Involved

CCA works with patients, family members, and caregivers from across the province through the Patient and Family Advisory Network. People who join the volunteer network are invited to take part in opportunities to share their experiences and ideas.

These opportunities may include:

  • Joining committees or working groups
  • Taking part in special projects
  • Participating in surveys or discussion panels
  • Reviewing patient resources and other public materials
  • Helping plan new programs, services, or facilities

Some opportunities are local to a specific community or cancer centre, while others help improve care across Alberta.

Who Can Join

You can join the volunteer Patient and Family Advisory Network if you have lived experience with cancer as a :

  • Current patient
  • Former patient
  • Family member or friend
  • Caregiver or support person

The feedback and advice shared by network members help Cancer Care Alberta improve care and services for patients and families.
