The OUD Shorts are a mini-series of videos that were created to support the network of service providers who work closely with youth who use opioids or may have an opioid-use disorder. These animated videos are aimed to serve as quick reference tools to educate service providers from any background on best-practices to deliver youth-friendly care as well as addressing opioid-related treatment options and holistic care.
The OUD Shorts were created in collaboration with service providers from Alberta on how they interact with youth with OUDs.
The mini-series is made up of three videos with centralized themes around opioid-use disorders and supporting youth:
The objectives of this video are to explain what an OUD is and what it looks like in youth, introduce a youth – centered approach to care and demonstrate how to assess youth with OUD.
The objectives of this video are to present different treatment options available to youth with an OUD and provide information on Suboxone and Methadone along with holistic treatments.
The objectives of this video are to demonstrate how to build a relationship with youth with OUD and review hints from experienced practitioners do’s and don’ts when treating youth with an OUD.
