This competition is open to patients, doctors, nurses, patient experts, caregivers, healthcare administrators and entrepreneurs, as well as community members, students. We know change-makers and innovators are working in every corner of our province!
Eligibility Criteria:
This year i4 is exploring how to enhance care in the community and is looking for ideas or solutions that have a strong community service/social impact focus. Within this theme, each idea should align with one or more of these areas:
First and foremost, this competition is a platform for innovators and change-makers to share their ideas with other outstanding individuals. It is also recognizes change-makers for innovative solutions that are making a community impact.
The panelists (& audience) will select the top three winners who will be asked to come up on stage to receive an award!
To apply, please visit our website and follow the steps in the online application form by July 22, 2020. You will need to provide answers to several questions, including:
Each of these question has a character limit. Filling out the application form should take no longer than 15 minutes.
After the deadline, a committee will select applicants to pitch their idea at the preliminary online competition. Each applicant will have 3 minutes to deliver their innovative idea to a panel of experts, plus 2 minutes Q&A. Presenters can use any sort of visuals to support the pitch. Timing is strict – so be ready – you don’t want to be cut off. The jury will evaluate the presentations and announce the finalists.
The 10 finalists will receive complimentary registration to i4 & be invited to present in-person to a distinguished jury in rapid-fire cycles: a 3-minute pitch & 2 minutes for Q & A. Top 3 winners will be selected.

Innovation and change-making is all about improving, increasing value and creating the new. It doesn’t matter if you are idea is big or small we want to hear from you! This means that your innovative idea could be:
The evaluation of each application is based on many factors, but the following four criteria are the most important.
It works! In fact, preparing your 3-minute presentation will provide you with a fresh perspective on your topic. Shaping your idea into a so-called "elevator pitch" can be a challenging restriction, but it also emphasizes the most essential parts of your idea: what it is, how it works, and what it can be used for.

Hint: To help visualize your presentation, explain what your problem is, why it exists, and how you intend to solve it.

Yes, you can apply for Launchpad as a group. If you are a member of a project group, please choose one representative to apply to Launchpad. If you are selected to participate, your group representative will present your project. You are obviously free to include the names of the group members on your presentation slides in order to acknowledge and appreciate the group effort behind the project.
