The BJH SCN has contributed to the development of a coordinated, provincial strategy to help Albertans manage pain across their lifespan and continues to support the Acute Pain Working Group, APS Steering Committee and Alberta Pain Research Network.
ASI is a collaboration between Alberta Health and AHS to reduce surgical wait times to within clinically recommended time frames. The BJH SCN is working closely with orthopaedic surgeons and others to improve wait times for hip and knee replacement surgery across the province.
Implemented in June 2020 in partnership with Health Link, Allied Health Zone Operations and the SCNs, AHS’ Rehabilitation Advice Line has helped fill critical gaps in wayfinding and access to rehabilitation support, particularly those with musculoskeletal, neurological, or post-COVID-19 rehabilitation needs.
