You can now get estimated emergency wait times, influenza immunization clinic times and locations, and latest news from Alberta Health Services on your Amazon Echo and Google Home devices. AHS is the first public healthcare organization in Canada to offer information to the public using Amazon Echo products and now this service is available on Google Home products.
If you have an Amazon Echo device, you can enable the Alberta Health Services skill for your Alexa. This skill provides Albertans with estimated emergency department wait times from specific sites, as well as the latest AHS news.
If you have a Google Home device or have downloaded the Google Assistant application on any mobile device, you can ask for estimated emergency department wait times from specific sites, as well as the latest AHS news.
Just say “Hey Google, ask Alberta Health Services for the latest news” and you will immediately hear up-to-date information and news from AHS.
Emergency Department & Urgent Care Centre Wait Times

These services are another way AHS is using innovation and technology to better support Albertans in managing and maintaining their health.
We will continue to add to our Alexa skill and Google Assistant offerings.
Patients and the public also have access to up-to-the-minute wait times for specific emergency departments 24 hours a day, seven days a week via the Alberta Health Services website and the AHS mobile app.
As always, any patient with a potentially life-threatening condition should immediately phone 911 or go directly to the NEAREST Emergency Department regardless of estimated wait times.
