Breast Health is a field of healthcare that provides education and treatment for breast health concerns across the lifespan. Breast health begins with education and awareness of normal breast development. It includes the detection and treatment for benign breast conditions as well as the early detection and primary treatment of breast cancer.
Breast Health Programs in Alberta offer a range of services from risk assessment for hereditary breast cancer, assessment and treatment of benign breast conditions, support and education from nurse navigation to the diagnosis and surgical treatment of breast cancer.
