Quality Referral Evolution (QuRE) (pronounced 'cure') is an initiative to improve communication between doctors, specialists, and patients during the referral process. QuRE provides checklists, resources, and residency workshops focused on improving the quality of referrals and consult notes among service providers, and on helping patients better manage their experience throughout the referral process. The initiative is a collaboration between Alberta Health Services, primary care doctors, surgeons and specialists, patient advisors, the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, Primary Care Networks, and the community.
